多益相關指數：★★★★ 隨著德國專案設計圖的最後期限逐漸逼近，達倫埋頭苦幹，試著要準時完成專案。然而，這一天對達倫來說卻是充滿器材問題和挫敗的日子......... 實戰對話→ Darren：Excuse me, Sandra. Something is wrong with the photocopier. 　　　　 I tried to make a few copies and all I get now is a blinking red light. 　　　（達倫：對不起，珊德拉，影印機不太對勁。我是著要影印一些東西，　　　　　　　但是眼前只見一個紅燈在不斷閃爍。） Sandra：Let me take a look. Oh, I see the problem—it"s jammed. 　　　（珊德拉：讓我看看。喔，我知道問題之所在，它卡紙了。） Sandra pulls out the jammed paper and closes the access panel. （珊德拉把卡紙拉出來，然後把檢修門關起來。） Sandra：There, it"s OK now. 　　　（珊德拉：哪，現在可以了。） Darren：Thanks a lot. 　　　（達倫：真是謝謝妳了。） After making some copies, Darren needs to fax them to Germany. （在印完幾張東西後，達倫需要把它們傳真到德國去。） Darren：Oh no! The fax machine is not working! 　　　（達倫：噢不！傳真機不靈光！） Steve：Is it out of order again? We need to replace that machine because it always 　　　　 needs fixing. Why don"t you just scan the documents into your computer and 　　　　 then fax them from your computer? 　　　（史提夫：又壞了嗎？我們需要把那台機器換掉，它老需要修理。　　　　　　　　你何不乾脆把文件掃描到你的電腦裡，然後再從你的電腦把它們傳真出去？） Darren：Great idea! Thanks, Steve. 　　　（達倫：好主意！謝了，史提夫。） Darren tries to use his computer to fax the documents, but he keeps getting an error message. （達倫試著要用他的電腦傳真文件，但是他一直得到操作錯誤的訊號。） Darren：Darn! I can"t make it work. Sandra, sorry to bother you, 　　　　 but do you know how this fax software works? 　　　　 I"m not familiar with it. I have a different program on my home computer. 　　　（達倫：可惡！怎麼試都不成功。珊德拉，抱歉來煩你，妳知不知道這個傳真軟體怎　　　　　　　麼用？我對它不太熟，我家裡面的電腦上是另一種程式。） Sandra：Sorry, Darren. My monitor has conked out.
