Talking About Job Events.
Sandra：I"ve really had to work overtime this week.
I"m starting to wonder if the salary is worth all the hard work we have to do.
（珊德拉：我這個星期必須加不少班。我開始在想，
不知道薪水到底值不值得我們必須做那麼多苦工。）
Darren：Yes, I"ve worked hard, too. But I think the pay is pretty good, and the benefits,
like the medical and dental plans, are not bad.
（達倫：是啊，我最近也工作得辛苦。但是我覺得薪水還不錯，
而且福利，像是醫療險和牙科險，也不差。）
Sandra：I"m not as happy about this company as you are.Actually,
I"ve been thinking of changing jobs.
（珊德拉：我對這間公司沒有像你那麼滿意。
事實上，我一直在考慮要不要換工作。）
Darren：Really? I think there are many chances to get a promotion at WHT.
You should think about that as well.
（達倫：真的嗎？我覺得在WHT獲得升遷的機會很多，妳應該把這點也考慮進去。）
Sandra：Maybe, but WHT is not a huge company. I think it will take a long time to get promoted.
Right now there"s a big demand for engineers with our kinds of skills.
A few of the big engineering companies are advertising for people.
I"m sure it wouldn"t be too difficult to get hired.
（珊德拉：也許吧。但是WHT不是一家大公司，我覺得要很久的時間才能得到升遷。
現在具備我們這樣技能的工程師大有其需求，
有幾家大型工程公司就在登廣告找人。
我確定要被僱用不會是件難事。）
Darren：But with big companies, you have to worry about getting laid off.
Many only care about making big profits.Also, you have to worry about the labor force
at those places going on strike.
（達倫：但是在大公司裡你得擔心被裁員；許多大公司都只在乎賺入大筆利潤。
而且你還得擔心那些地方的勞工罷工。）
Sandra：Well, it doesn"t hurt to check out the opportunities.
（珊德拉：嗯，看看這些機會還是無妨。） |
